Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GJEPC sign MOU for PM Vishwakarma Scheme

GJEPC will impart skill training to registered ‘Vishwakarmas’ under PM Vishwakarma Yojana

 

Delhi, 21st March 2024: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministryof Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the apex trade body, Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) appointing GJEPC as implementing agency for Prime Minister PM Vishwakarma Scheme on 14th March 2024 in Delhi. The MoU was signed in the august presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon. Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India; and Shri Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, was present on this momentous occasion.

Shri Sabyasachi Ray, ED, GJEPC, said, “Under the Kushal Bharat Viksit Bharat motto, this MoU will promote initiatives to bring speed and scale to India's skill ecosystem. The primary objective of the scheme is to enable the recognition of artisans and craftspeople as ‘Vishwakarmas’ making them eligible to avail the benefits under the scheme. GJEPC will impart skill training to registered Vishwakarmas under PM Vishwakarma Yojana for the trade of Goldsmiths across the country. GJEPC will facilitate Training and Skilling Centres in many regions is poised to equip locals in the region with industry-specific skills, thereby creating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth in the region.”

As India is being positioned as a design driven Jewellery manufacturing hub, the intent of the Central Government is to facilitate new talent to thrive and grow, as well as preserve and promote the cultural heritage of India’s rich legacy in handcrafted and bespoke jewellery.

• जी.जे.ई.पी.सी. पीएम विश्वकर्मा योजना के तहत पंजीकृत 'विश्वकर्माओं' को कौशल प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करेगी

कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय (एमएसडीई) और शीर्ष व्यापार निकाय, जेम एंड ज्वैलरी एक्सपोर्ट प्रमोशन काउंसिल (जी.जे.ई.पी.सी.) के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एम.ओ.यू.) पर हस्ताक्षर 14 मार्च 2024 को दिल्ली में  किया गया , जिसमें जी.जे.ई.पी.सी. को प्रधान मंत्री पीएम विश्मकर्मा योजना  के लिए कार्यान्वयन एजेंसी नियुक्त किया गया। माननीय श्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। केंद्रीय शिक्षा, कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्री, भारत सरकार; और जीजेईपीसी के कार्यकारी निदेशक श्री सब्यसाची राय इस महत्वपूर्ण अवसर पर उपस्थित थे।

जी.जे.ई.पी.सी. के कार्यकारी निदेशक, श्री सब्यसाची राय ने कहा, “कुशल भारत विकसित भारत आदर्श वाक्य के तहत, यह समझौता ज्ञापन भारत के कौशल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में गति को बढ़ावा देगा। योजना का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य कारीगरों और शिल्पकारों को 'विश्वकर्मा' के रूप में मान्यता देना है, जिससे वे योजना के तहत लाभ उठाने के पात्र बन सकें। जी.जे.ई.पी.सी. देशभर में स्वर्णकारों के व्यापार के लिए पी.एम. विश्वकर्मा योजना के तहत पंजीकृत विश्वकर्माओं को कौशल प्रशिक्षण देगी। जी.जे.ई.पी.सी. कई क्षेत्रों में प्रशिक्षण और कौशल केंद्रों की सुविधा प्रदान करेगी, जो क्षेत्र के स्थानीय लोगों को उद्योग-विशिष्ट कौशल से लैस करने के लिए तैयार है, जिससे रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होंगे और क्षेत्र में आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।

जैसा कि भारत को एक डिजाइन संचालित आभूषण विनिर्माण केंद्र के रूप में स्थापित किया जा रहा है, केंद्र सरकार का इरादा नई प्रतिभाओं को पनपने और विकसित करने की सुविधा प्रदान करना है, साथ ही हस्तनिर्मित और विशेष आभूषणों में भारत की समृद्ध विरासत की सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संरक्षित और बढ़ावा देना है।
